Went to my company party and had a blast... great food, drinks, laughter and GIFTS! I love my job. Can't even begin to tell you how lucky I am and I really face that fact during times like these...
My boss buys a random gift for each person and after lunch we play a little yankee-swap-steal-elephant game with all of the mystery packages. If you're lucky you go home with some pewter serving dishes... I wasn't so lucky at first, but things are gonna turn around when I trade the towels in tomorrow. :o)
When I arrived home we played with the tripod my coworker loaned me, this puppy is going to come in handy on Christmas! Thanks Kelly for the filthy/stiff tripod that totally still works!
The snow started falling as we went to bed and in the morning we discovered a lovely white blanket draped across our property. Check out the sun coming up from behind our hill...
The boys had a great time, but it took me awhile to figure out the camera setting that worked well in these conditions. I'm hoping this is just "practice" snow, I'll need quite a few more tries to get it right. Mostly I struggled with blurry moving subjects even with an action/sport setting, grrr.
Hope you're all staying warm, it's insanely cold here tonight and I understand the temps are expected to drop even further this week. I'm crossing my fingers that the Mini has an "ice skating mode" in the event that traveling to work forces a double lutz...

Your work party looks fun! How nice to enjoy what you do and who you do it with. My family plays yankee swap and we always have so much fun stealing the "good" gifts from each other.

I wish my boss was cool enough to throw a party and get us gifts... oh, wait... er.
(Actually, the PC holiday party will be four of us, a hundred bucks, and a bar. Woot!)
Ohhhh... I'm so jealous of all the bloggers who got snow over the weekend! I'm not sure if I could live in snow... but if it snowed for one (maybe two) weeks every year here in Temecula, I could totally live with that! We just get rain. Non-stop... never ending... down pouring rain... for about a week or two. Like today. Its great for today though. I don't have to go anywhere!
